WHILE cattle numbers will be reduced on the 2013 sale at the 48th annual Tropical Northern Brahman Bull Sale the quality of what’s on offer will still be of a very high standard.

There will also be a selection of high quality bulls from local studs for those wanting a breed other than Brahman, including twelve Droughtmasters, seven Charbray and three Shorthorn.
The local area sale will be well represented at the sale, while several reputable ‘out-of-town’ vendors will be selling as well, stud’s selling at the sale include TBR Wrangler Brahmans, Kenilworth Brahmans, Tykier Brahmans, Reedybrook Brahmans, and Reedybrook B Brahmans, Yantee Creek Brahmans, Eskwood Brahmans, Warrina Droughtmasters, Northern Charbray Stud, Morbridge Droughtmaster, Tallangalook Shorthorns, Baronessa Charbray and Astarra Droughtmasters.
Tropical Northern Brahman Bull Sale committee secretary Narelle Pashen said the sale vendors pride themselves on the quality of their stock and that they’ve been bred to suit the northern environment.
“While numbers are down on the last year’s sale, buyers can rest assured that they can expect to see an exemplary offering of high quality, tropically bred Brahman, Droughtmaster, Charbray and Shorthorn males and females on offer at the sale,” she said.
“The sale bulls are of a very high standard, with a focus on conformation, temperament and growth range being of the utmost importance.
“Our regular vendors are long-time supporters of the sale who are well respected within the industry for their ability to produce bulls that can go straight to the paddock and perform.
She said a highlight of the day will be the charity auction of Lot 33 Eskwood Yogi.
“Matt and Anna Slaughter have very kindly donated Yogi to the 65 Roses Cystic Fibrosis for auction at the sale.
“He’ll be the first bull of the Eskwood draft to enter the sale ring, so we’re hoping buyers will bid generously on him.”
She said many of the studs have been purchasing high priced high quality sires to improve the value of the genetics in their herds.
“The quality these vendors have strived for is easily evident offering of the bulls at the sale.”
“Buyers will have a chance to take advantage of the genetic gains these studs are making at the sale to strengthen their own stud line-ups with some superior bulls.”
“The sale will provide a unique opportunity for bull buyers to purchase excellent stock on their own turf.”
The sale bulls will be available for inspection all day on Thursday November 20 from 12pm and prior to the sale.
A long-term sale tradition will be honored this year with vendors and buyers of the top priced bull jointly cutting the Tropical Northern Brahman Bull Sale Christmas ham to share with those in attendance on the day.
